Not wanting to wait until his late July visit, Noah Turner committed to North Carolina on Friday.
UNC is one of 18 schools to have offered Turner, a 6-foot-3, 237-pound tight end from Mundelein (Ill.) Carmel. Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, NC State, Purdue, and Wake Forest are some of the other notable programs to have offered.
Turner has listed UNC as his leader since visiting the school -- and landing an offer -- in April. He plans to return to UNC on July 24.
Turner has played tight end in a triple-option offense at Carmel. He ended his junior season with 13 receptions for 360 yards and five touchdowns.
