UNC Offers Bridges

After watching Miles Bridges dominate the Peach Jam, Roy Williams offered the star wing.

On Monday morning Miles Bridges narrowed his list to five schools. On Monday afternoon, he landed a Tar Heel scholarship offer

After Roy Williams and his assistants tracked Bridges throughout the Nike Peach Jam, they formally offered him a scholarship.

“They just offered me, like just now,” Bridges said.

Bridges, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound wing prospect out of Huntington (W.V.) Prep, also narrowed his list of schools to Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State and North Carolina. He said last week that he plans to take official visits to his finalists this fall before making a decision.

Bridges, who is best described as a "tough, strong, physical forward," was terrific at the Peach Jam this past weekend, where he averaged 22.8 points and 10 rebounds a game.

"There might not have been a more exciting player to watch at the Peach Jam than Miles Bridges," the Scout team wrote when selecting the top performers nationwide for the week. "The extremely strong and athletic forward had it working while running with The Family. He was doing a better job of hitting shots, and then also using his athleticism to finish going to the rim. With coaches from Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana and North Carolina tracking his every move, Bridges really impressed and proved why he is one of the best in the country."

Bridges entered July ranked by Scout as the No. 25 prospect in the nation. He's expected to exit July much higher on the list.
