UNC Offers Ferguson

Terrance Ferguson is the newest addition to UNC Basketball's 2016 offered list.

Roy Williams watched Terrance Ferguson on Wednesday night and saw all he needed to see.

A Tar Heel scholarship offer was extended shortly thereafter, his coach with Mo Williams Academy, Ray Forsette, confirmed.

Ferguson scored 18 points in front of UNC's head coach in his opening game at the Under Armour Association Finals in Suwanee, Ga.

The athletic 6-7, 185-pound wing from Dallas, Texas, who is being home schooled after leaving Prime Prep Academy, is ranked No. 18 overall in the 2016 class.

"In addition to a jumper that can become scorching hot from deep, he's a very good athlete," according to the Scout recruiting team. "With his quickness and length, he should be able to defend shooting guards or wing forwards at the next level. He simply needs to get stronger and improve his ball handling."

UNC joins a long list that includes Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, Louisville, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SMU, Texas and Texas A&M.

Ferguson has extensive USA Basketball experience, having won gold medals with USA teams at both the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
