Although he didn’t pull the trigger on either of his planned dates, Korey Banks has verbally committed to North Carolina.
Banks, a 6-foot, 165-pound athlete from Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek, selected UNC over fellow finalists Arizona, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin.
Initially, Banks considered making a verbal commitment on either of the past two Saturdays.
Banks, who was recruited by Chris Kapilovic, is projected as a wide receiver by the UNC staff. He ended his junior season with 700 yards in receptions for a team that went 11-2.
Banks first visited UNC for its thrilling victory over Pittsburgh last season. He returned to Chapel Hill in early June.
With Banks's commitment, UNC's 2016 class now stands at 14.
