LAS VEGAS -- Edrice "Bam" Adebayo has been one of the dominant players on the July live evaluation period the past three weeks and he's now beginning to think about the next steps in his recruiting process.
The 6-foot-9 Adebayo was watched by North Carolina's staff throughout the week in Las Vegas as the Tar Heels continue to make a push to try to land the No. 12 overall player in the class of 2016. Over the summer, Adebayo took an unofficial visit with AAU teammate and top-ranked point guard Dennis Smith to Chapel Hill to play some pick-up ball against the current Tar Heel players.
"I mean, pick-up was fun, they've got good guys," Adebayo said. "Roy [Williams] is a good guy. All of their staff is good people. It was just fun playing pick-up. I'm just glad that I could be there."
With the summer of AAU winding down, the next step for Adebayo is to look into official visits and see where he might take some trips in the next few months. Adebayo mentioned that a few in-state schools would probably receive a visit -- including North Carolina -- and that Smith could potentially accompany him on those trips to see campuses.
"I'm pretty sure we're going to make some visits together. He's like my brother," Adebayo said of Smith and their official visits.
"Probably [N.C.] State, UNC, Wake Forest. A lot of North Carolina schools and some out of state."
While Adebayo seems to have some schools in mind that will be a factor until the end of his recruitment, he's not cutting down a list quite yet.
"I'm considering everybody. I've got to pick one school, but I'm considering everybody. I'm taking my time," Adebayo said. "Just enjoying the ride and after that I'll make my decision. But until then, I'm just going to play ball."
Adebayo doesn't seem to be favoring a late decision. He mentioned that a fall decision is likely and he's going to discuss things with people he cares about before making a selection.
"Pretty much my mom and my family and everybody that's around me in my tight circle, we're just going to [talk] and make a decision together," Adebayo said.
