UNC Offers Fox

North Carolina has offered De'Aaron Fox, arguably the nation's top point guard prospect, a scholarship.

Roy Williams tracked De'Aaron Fox at the Las Vegas Classic during the final evaluation period last week and followed up those viewings with a UNC scholarship offer on Wednesday, Fox and his father confirmed.

"He was very happy, of course, that a top school offered him," his father, Aaron Fox, said.

The 6-4 Katy (Texas) Cypress Lakes point guard told Scout at the Peach Jam earlier this month that he was communicating the most with Arizona, Kansas, Louisville and Texas, who he unofficially visited in June. He then proceeded to add additional scholarship offers during the following evaluation periods.

At the Las Vegas Classic, Fox told Scout that he was looking to narrow his list in August. His father said he plans to wait until the spring to sign.

Fox is currently ranked No. 16 in Scout's rankings, but after a strong July playing with the Houston Hoops he will make a move into Scout's top 10 and up the point guard list.
