Inside Carolina's Greg Barnes dove into some of North Carolina's biggest headlines following Monday's practice, which included Malik Simmons's reinstatement, implementing defensive changes and a previously injured offense getting back together.
Barnes highlighted how UNC's defense has made major progress learning the new system since first being introduced to it in the spring.
"You can still tell that Chizik is in full command. His defensive coaches seem to have a rapport with the players which is very important," Barnes said. "The players are no longer wondering about what kind of drills they need to be doing, what kind of form, all that's pretty much smooth and that's what you want.
"So now they've got a good foundation, they can really start to build on that. It's just day one but after day one it looked pretty smooth to me."
