UNC Offers Robinson, Discusses Visit

North Carolina is trying to makes its move quickly for Brandon Robinson.

Brandon Robinson hit seven three-pointers en route to 29 points with Roy Williams in attendance during the adidas Championships in late July.

Two weeks later the 6-5 wing from Douglas County (Ga.) High School has a Tar Heel scholarship offer.

"Coach Williams called me last week and he told me he loved my game and what I did this summer," Robinson said. "He thought I had a great July. He told me that he was going to call me within the next week. He said he was going to sit down with his staff and see who was going to decide early and who was going to decide late and see who they were going to offer.

"He called me back today (Friday) and told me he wanted to offer me and talk to my parents about getting up on campus and stuff like that.

Robinson took an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill for UNC's game against Duke earlier this year.

"I’m just happy and blessed to be offered by a program like that with great tradition," he said. "They develop pros and it’s just a great school and a great program.

I like how (Williams) gives his guards freedom and I like how they push the ball up the court. That’s the two things that stood out to me when I watched them play duke. He makes the guards play fast."

The Tar Heels are moving fast to try and get into the mix out of necessity. Robinson received the offer call from Williams just a couple hours before he departs for an official visit to Louisville. He's also got official visits scheduled with Maryland on Sept. 12 and Florida State on Oct. 10. And he's now thinking he'll decide in the fall, citing "late October or early November" as a time frame for a decision.

Will he officially visit UNC?

"It’s a conversation for down road," Robinson said. "(Williams) said next week he was going to give me a call and my dad a call to get me up there for an official visit.

"I think it’ll be something I’ll do. I just have to sit down with my parents and figure out dates and stuff like that."
