Inside Carolina's Greg Barnes and Paige Hopkins highlighted the team's growing confidence. The main takeaways were the positive attitudes surrounding the team, a healthy Marquise Williams and the coaches that seem to be boosting morale.
After practice a few coaches and players including Larry Fedora and Elijah Hood talked about the confidence they had specifically in the defensive and offensive lines respectively.
Hopkins noted that the player who arguably suffered most from last season's lackluster offensive line was Marquise Williams. Now that the O-line is reported to be getting better and the team's starting quarterback is back to full health, the outlook for the offensive side of the ball appears much better.
Barnes said Williams is the main factor that will make or break the offense.
"Really, the big thing for me is being able to watch Marquise Williams," he said. "We talk about all these different components of the team but he's the engine that makes the offense go, and he's finally healthy and I think you can really see that."
