CHAPEL HILL, N.C -- Landon Turner knows what goes into a well played game. The senior Tar Heel offensive guard detailed to Inside Carolina what the UNC offense will have to do in order to get the upper hand over South Carolina's defense.
Turner said keeping energy high and mistakes low are both crucial aspects to UNC's offensive success.
"We have to go out and do what we do, we have to take care of the football, no turnovers, we have to get explosive plays, our tempo is going to be crucial," he said. "Our critical situation execution is going to be crucial, when we get into those third down situations make sure we convert those. Those are going to be our keys to victory going into this game."
The offensive lineman said preparation for South Carolina's revamped defense under new coordinator Jon Hoke has been different than the usual game prep.
"We had to focus on where he's been and what his philosophy has been at other places," Turner said. "We've been watching Bears film, we watched their spring game. You watch what you can and we're prepared for anything, that's how we run our offense. We have rules for every play so that we can pick up everything and it makes it a lot easier to adjust. As far as specifically for S.C. it's been a little bit more creative than some other teams because their defense is a little newer."
