CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- There's been a quiet confidence emanating from Ryan Switzer this year.
The Tar Heel playmaker kept a low profile during the summer, burying himself in his offseason workouts. And he hasn't attempted to grab any headlines in fall camp through interviews or social media comments.
As for wearing a GoPro camera (see below video), that was Inside Carolina's idea, not his.
But in doing that video feature, he spoke to Inside Carolina at length (see above video) about his mindset entering his junior season and the origins of his work ethic.
"I'm as focused as I've ever been," Switzer said. "I think this team is as focused as we've ever been."
Switzer earned first team All-America honors as a freshman for his special teams achievements and he was UNC's leading wide receiver as a sophomore. His confidence is justified entering the 2015 campaign.
"I'm a guy that makes plays," he said. "When my number is called, whenever that is - whether it's special teams, offense - I can take the ball and score any time I touch it. That's the mindset that I have when I'm on the field.
"I've seen it all - I've played in some pretty nice venues, so the nerves shouldn't be there. It's all business and we're looking forward to the challenge. I'm certainly looking forward to starting this year off."
