UNC's Increased Preparation for Georgia Tech

The Tar Heels will face off against the Yellow Jackets in a few days, but the preparation started weeks ago.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- After logging three games against Georgia Tech in his UNC tenure, Larry Fedora said the team better comprehends how to approach the Yellow Jackets' triple-option offense.

"We've played them now for three years so you understand what their philosophy is and what they're going to do and what that does to you on the other side of the ball and how important the special teams are and all those things," Fedora said. "You have to be efficient because you're not going to get a lot of drives."

Fedora said they've prepared for Georgia Tech much longer than prior seasons.

"There was a lot more preparation going into the week than we have in the past," he said.

"What we did in those weeks that we've had previously, we picked out five of the best things that they do and those were the things we focused on that whole time so those guys got more comrotable with those things. And hopefully that'll pay off for us on Saturday."
