CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Roy Williams has led his 2015-16 team through six fall practices and knows what will drive them - and him - this season.
"I think what will motivate them is the losses last year to Wisconsin in the Sweet Sixteen, to Notre Dame in the (ACC) finals or to Duke, they played very very well," Williams said. "I think those things will motivate them more than the (NCAA) stuff going on.
"I feel a sense of urgency for this team to try to reach its potential. But I think that's pretty doggone close to what I've felt with every team to do what we can do."
Williams said despite being back in the gym for only about a week, practice has gone well thus far.
"I like what the kids have done, they've had a great attitude, practice has been fun. No coach is going to say they're satisfied with where they are at this time but I like what our guys have done."
