CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Thanks to a bye week, Gene Chizik has had more time than usual to prepare the Tar Heels for Saturday night's game against Wake Forest.
"They do a lot of stuff, they do a lot of things you have to adjust to that can be problematic," Chizik said. "They kind of stretch you in a lot of different ways in terms of the variety of formations, some personnel groupings and things of that nature.
"They're a physical team, they want to run the ball, they're good with their play-action game. They do a lot of eye candy stuff, jet sweeps and things of that nature to keep you off balance and pull people out of gaps. They've got a lot of things that we're working on."
There's also the added element of having to prepare for two different quarterbacks, as the Deacs split reps between Kendall Hinton and John Wolford.
"There's a little bit of difference between the two," Chizik said. "They tend to do one set of ideas with one and another set of ideas with the other. So preparation wise that gives you extra things that you have to look at."
