ICTV: Scouting UNC DE Commit Nolan DeFranco

Breaking down UNC pledge Nolan DeFranco through senior season footage.

Nolan DeFranco is an ideal fit for the power end position in North Carolina’s 4-3 defensive scheme. Eight games into Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange’s season, the 6-foot-6, 225-pounder has thrived against the run using sneaky quickness to slide into gaps and his length to maintain separation from blockers and engulf ball carriers.

DeFranco isn’t a guy that’s going to pile up the sacks, but he’ll definitely pressure (and in some instances hit) opposing quarterbacks because of his relentless motor.

That same relentlessness allows DeFranco to regularly pursue plays down the field and make plays outside of the tackle box.
