Carolina head coach Matt Doherty, and assistant coach Doug Wojcik, will travel to Austin on Tuesday for UNC's in-home visit with Buckman.
While Buckman said he has no specific agenda lined up for Tuesday night, his most important question regarding the Tar Heels is one that he is asking himself.
"It's a big-time school and my question is 'Can I take it or not?'" he told IC.
Two days after the in-home with the UNC coaches, Buckman will fly into RDU Airport for a four-day stay in Chapel Hill.
"I just want to see all of the campus," Buckman said. "The things around it. How the night life is and how you hang out, the Dean Dome ..."
Buckman said he isn't bothered by the fact that the Tar Heels are recruiting several other frontcourt players.
"It kind of gives me confidence — just to know I'm high up there [with them] and I'm on their list," he said.
And, as for the talk among recruiting circles that he's going to choose Texas?
"I let them talk because they don't know me," Buckman said. "They don't understand where I want to go ... It's my decision. If they want to think that, they can think that."
Even though his recruitment didn't really hit full steam until July, Buckman is already eager to make a decision and focus on his senior season at Westlake.
"I want to get set as fast as possible," he said.
