CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- It didn't fully hit home for Shammond Williams until the postgame interview.
Walking out of the opposing team's huddle and sitting on the opposing team's bench Wednesday night at the Smith Center was surreal for the former Tar Heel standout who is now an assistant coach at Tulane. As was joining Marcus Paige at center court to celebrate Paige passing Williams's career three-point record.
But when the game was over, and Williams was asked to reflect, the emotion poured out.
"I love this place," he said. "It changed my life."
