One of the few bright spots of West Charlotte’s 2015 season was North Carolina pledge Marlon Dunlap. Even though the once proud program produced just two wins, Dunlap was selected to the Shrine Bowl on the merit of his ability against the run, pass rush, and pursuit from his defensive tackle position.
Regardless of situation, Dunlap has a great motor and uses his hands to maneuver within the tackle box and bring down the ball carrier. He fires off the ball low and then moves quickly over and through the offensive line to penetrate inside.
Dunlap doesn’t give up on plays away from him. He’s not going to run down a lot of skill players, but he’ll flop on top of a ball carrier attempting to break out of a tackle.
