What made you decide to sign with UNC?

It felt right when I was there. I got along with all the coaches, all the players. It felt like a family atmosphere. It was just a perfect fit for me. I feel like I can get a great education there and succeed in every aspect I want to.

Who recruited you?

Coach Warren, Chizik and Fedora.

When did you tell the UNC coaches, and how did they take it?

I think it was 7 something this morning. It was exciting. Coach Chizik told me he's ready for me to get up there and work.

The Tar Heels seemed to come late on your radar. When did you start seriously thinking about UNC?

They came two weeks before I took a visit, and when I took the visit I didn't know if I was really going to like it or not, I was just taking the visit just to take it. And I actually fell in love with it when I went up there. I loved it.

What was it about Chapel Hill that made you fall in love?

It's great people, a family atmosphere that I love. And they're on the verge of going to the national championship. I want to be a part of that.

How much did UNC's success this past season play a part in your decision?

A lot of success. Like I said, they're on the verge of going to the national championship, I just feel like they need to build in more pieces. Once they do that, they'll be great.

You're one of just a few Hillsborough County products to choose UNC in the past decade. Are you starting a trend?

Oh, oh, oh, most definitely. We're going to start a pipeline, and we're going to get this thing rolling. FSU, Clemson, Miami, all I have to say is, we coming. That's all I've got to say.

Do you think you look good in Carolina Blue?

Oh yes, most definitely. Go Tar Heels, you already know what it is.

What are your goals for your freshman year?

I feel like I can get on the field and play and then eventually become a starter. I just have to go up there and do what I need to do. I want to be a freshman All-American, and you know, years down the road hopefully win the Jim Thorpe award. That's just my goal.

What was with the Cincinnati hat [Sails walked into the ceremony wearing a Bearcats hat]?

I feel like you've got to have fun with it.

I know you're recruited as a cornerback, but are you likely to play any special teams?

I'm going to play punt returner and cornerback.

What's the biggest thing you're looking forward to about heading to UNC?

The biggest thing I'm looking forward to is just competing against the best and hopefully making a name for myself at the next level.

What did you like about Coach Fedora and Chizik?

Fedora, he's just like me. He's got a great personality. Chizik is more laid back. My DB coach, he's more like me. I'm excited to get up there and work with those guys.
