With two months before practice starts, Felton said UNC's program, now under the direction of Carolina graduate, former assistant and 15-year Kansas coach Roy Williams, is in good shape.

"I think it was better for everybody as a team," Felton said about the coaching change.

"Not just for me as an individual because I like coach Doherty, but I think it's just a better situation for everybody on the team. Everybody's happy, it's just a more positive environment."
