Malik Robinson verbally committed to North Carolina on Saturday during the “Freak Fest” junior day, sources confirmed to Inside Carolina.
Robinson, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker from Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett, selected UNC over scholarship offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, Notre Dame, and Virginia Tech.
UNC became Robinson’s leader after he attended the Tar Heels’ first junior day of the 2017 cycle back in late January. Since that visit, he and his father have been discussing a possible pledge with their April 2 return the target date.
While playing outside and inside linebacker as a junior, Robinson made 101 tackles, including 15 for a loss and a pair of sacks. He also intercepted a pass and blocked a kick.
He's ranked the No. 29 ILB in the nation, according to Scout.com.
