DT Signee Kyree Campbell Denied UNC Admission

The Virginia defensive tackle won't enroll at UNC this summer.

Kyree Campbell has been denied admission by North Carolina, according to Inside Carolina sources.

Campbell, a 6-foot-3, 310-pound defensive tackle from Woodbridge (Va.), verbally committed to UNC over a bevy of scholarship offers last August. He proceeded to sign with the Tar Heels as part of the 2016 class.

The next step for Campbell, who has yet to qualify, has not been determined, a source said. The UNC football staff has, though, given him placement options (i.e. junior college, prep school).
