Taylor nearing a decision

DURHAM, N.C. – Inside Carolina was on hand Saturday night to watch North Carolina 2004 prospect Hilee Taylor and Scotland County in a practice game against Northern Durham at Durham County Stadium.

The scrimmage was more or less a defensive struggle as neither team could mount a consistent offense.

Taylor, a defensive end, demonstrated his pass rushing skills as he stayed in the Knights' backfield for much of the night.

"I thought I played pretty well but I made some mistakes too that I can learn from," Taylor said.

As far as recruiting goes, Taylor reported that he was unable to visit Tennessee and East Carolina as he had originally planned.

"You can pretty much mark those two teams off my list," he said. "It's too bad that I did not get a chance to visit those schools. Now it's down to Clemson, UNC, N.C. State, Virginia Tech and South Carolina.

"I still intend to make my decision by August 22. I'll have to sit down with my parents and think about each school."

Stay tuned as Taylor should pull the trigger within the next ten days.
