LB Jeremiah Gemmel Commits to UNC

Gemmel becomes the second Georgia linebacker to pledge to the Tar Heels for 2017 class.

Jeremiah Gemmel verbally committed to North Carolina on Saturday night, two weeks after attending Fedora's Freak Show.

Gemmel, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker from Sharpsburg (Ga.) East Coweta, selected the Tar Heels over scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, and Tennessee.

As a junior, Gemmel was a Class 6A All-State honorable mention. He led East Coweta with 95 tackles.

Chris Kapilovic recruited Gemmel for UNC.

Gemmel is the second Georgia linebacker to commit to UNC. Three months ago Malik Robinson verbally committed to the Tar Heels.

UNC's class currently stands at 13 members.
