Romeo Langford Adds Tar Heel Offer

No. 2 prospect in 2018 class was watched extensively this month by Roy Williams.

Call it confidence or foresight - or both. Romeo Langford knew it was coming.

After the UNC staff tracked him in the spring, the 6-4 guard from New Albany (Ind.) Senior HS said he believed a UNC offer would ultimately be in the cards.

After his stellar play elevated his ranking to the No. 2 spot in's Class of 2018 rankings, Langford explained that Roy Williams was working through his standard process toward an offer.

On Tuesday evening, he announced that it had come to fruition.

In addition to UNC, Langford holds offers from Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville and many other programs nationwide.

Langford is ranked the top shooting guard in the rising senior class after averaging 23.6 points and 8.9 rebounds in the spring adidas Gauntlet series and then 20.2 points and 6.2 rebounds (including a 40-point outing) at last week's adidas Championships.

"Langford has established himself as one of the very best prospects in the 2018 class," said Inside Carolina analyst Rob Harrington. "He's a fantastic scorer who also admirably plays taller as a rebounder and defender. He has been well coached as well and projects as an immediate impact performer at the school of his choice."
