Three on top for Miller

West Craven (NC) defensive end Gerard Miller was ready to start his season under the lights of Raleigh in the Pigskin Classic, but a little trouble happened along the way. Despite that, he is still upbeat and keeping an open mind to the season and his recruitment.

"We were ready to get the season started, and we were on the bus pulling out of the school when our coach said we were turning around," says the 6-foot-4, 255 pounder. The jamboree was cancelled due to a torrential downpour which plagued the area for over a week, but he just took out his aggression on the next team on his list. "We played Conley last Friday and beat them 33-6. I had 9 tackles and two sacks in the game, and a couple of catches as well."

Teams have certainly taken notice, with offers from several schools and a new interest from Duke.

"They have started to send me a lot of information, and they may end up offering soon, but we will see."

For now, Miller is set with his three favorites and is nearly ready to start setting up his official visits.

"My favorites are NC State, Florida State, and (North) Carolina. I am probably going to set up my official visit to Florida State this week, and I still want to go to the first NC State game this year."

While he would like to take early visits, Miller plans to wait until National Signing Day to announce his decision.
