Tyler Smith (5'10/175) is a sure handed receiver from McEachern High School who is committed to play football for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He helped his McEachern team get off to a good start on the season with a pair of touchdown receptions against Archer as the Indians won 27-14 in the Corky Kell Classic.

Smith runs great routes, has terrific hands, and does well after the catch. He's quick off the line and quick in the open field. He's a long-time Tar Heel commitment, having pledged to North Carolina in November of his junior season.

McEachern now faces a tough test this week against a Grayson team that is coming off a thumping at the hands of IMG Academy (Fla.). With the likes of Jamyest Williams and DeAngelo Gibbs in the Rams' secondary, Florida State Seminoles quarterback commitment Bailey Hockman and Smith will have a big challenge on Friday night.
