CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The long-awaited game day is almost here, and it turns out the players are not the only ones who get nervous stepping out into the Saturday spotlight. Head coach Larry Fedora says he still gets those stomach butterflies, too.
Don't let the southern accent and scruffy beard fool you, Fedora says he's quite the worrier. Until kickoff he's on the same jittery page as all of his players. However, he said his staff has done everything in its power to prepare for all situations and make the team comfortable in tough and high stress situations. This Saturday's season opener against Georgia, he says, will be the test to find out how well the players can handle the pressure and adversity without the guidance of the coaches that have been right by their sides through the spring and fall.
