Elijah Hood Talks UNC Rushing Attack Against Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Facing a stout Illinois defensive front, North Carolina committed to its running game and reaped the rewards.

The Tar Heels gained 231 rushing yards on 37 attempts - for a 5.3 yards per rushing attempt average - in the 48-23 win over Illinois.

It was a balanced effort, with Elijah Hood (15 attempts for 88 yards, two TDs), T.J. Logan (54 yards) and Mitch Trubisky (42 yards) each making significant plays on the ground.

Hood said the success of the rushing attack and the offense as a whole will serve as a confidence booster moving forward.
