Sterling Manley. Tar Heel.
Less than a month after receiving a scholarship offer from North Carolina, the 6-10 center announced his commitment to Roy Williams and UNC at the conclusion of his official visit to Chapel Hill.
Manley is UNC’s first commitment from the Buckeye state since Jawad Williams in 2001. He chose North Carolina over three other finalists - West Virginia, Purdue and Xavier.
"Manley is something of a mystery man to national scouts," said Inside Carolina recruiting analyst Rob Harrington. "The big man had demonstrated real potential his junior season, but a severely broken leg — he had to be stretchered out of the gym — ended his hopes of impressing on the 2016 travel circuit. Once again healthy and ready for his senior year, Manley grew a surge of major recruiting interest."
He is UNC's fourth commitment in the senior class, joining Jalek Felton, Brandon Huffman and Andrew Platek.
