CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The North Carolina defense has a "bend but don't break mentality," but according to Des Lawrence, UNC did not even bend against Virginia on Saturday.
This far into the season, head coach Larry Fedora reminded, you can't call the defense young anymore. The extensive practice and game experience in 2016 is starting to translate to the field.
The Tar Heels held Virginia to 3-of-19 on third down conversions and a season-low 253 total yards of offense. The result? UNC's ninth consecutive true road game win.
