Before ending his North Carolina official visit this past weekend, Antwuan Branch switched his commitment from Purdue to North Carolina.
Branch, a 6-foot, 200-pound running back from Clarksville (Tenn.) Kenwood, originally verbally committed to Purdue in June.
"I just knew that I felt the most comfortable in that situation," Branch said of the Tar Heel program on Sunday.
Late last month, a wave of new offers came Branch's way. Included in that wave was Iowa, Iowa State, UNC, Tulane, and Wisconsin. Branch officially visited Madison the following weekend and entered into official visit talks with UNC.
This season, Branch has rushed for 1,769 yards and 22 touchdowns with a 9.1-yard-per-carry average. That's after 2,595 rushing yards with 27 touchdowns as a junior.
