Kelby Wickline has verbally committed to North Carolina. He made the pledge prior to ending his official visit to UNC this past weekend.
"I liked the campus, the overall family oriented atmosphere, the academics, and the successful football program in general," Wickline said.
Wickline, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive lineman from Jones County (Miss.) Junior College, committed to UNC over scholarship offers from Arkansas, Arizona State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, TCU, and West Virginia.
Offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic, who served as Wickline's primary recruiter, projects Wickline to play multiple positions along the offensive line, according to Wickline.
A January enrollee, Wickline will have three years of eligibility to play at UNC. He signed with UTSA as part of the 2014 class, grey-shirted, red-shirted, and then spent the past season at Jones County.
