Top UNC Recruit Kevin Knox Hits Buzzer Beater

Tampa senior won his opening game with a three-pointer as time expired.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- With 4.5 seconds left on the clock and his team down 69-68, Kevin Knox wanted the ball.

Tampa Catholic had been pushed to the brink of an opening round defeat at the John Wall Invitational by a Cary High squad that looked every bit as tough as its runner-up finish in the NCHSAA 4A state title game a year ago would suggest.

The senior Knox - UNC's top remaining target in the 2017 class - already had 35 points on the night as he took the ball and raced up court before letting a contested, straightaway three-pointer fly just before the final buzzer sounded.
