Nearly half of North Carolina’s verbal commit list will report to campus on Sunday and then enroll in the spring semester.
Running back Michael Carter, wide receiver J.T. Cauthen, defensive linemen Xach Gill, Jake Lawler, and Jordon Riley, offensive lineman Jonah Melton, and defensive back Tre Shaw are scheduled to arrive on campus on Sunday. Of those, Cauthen, Lawler, Melton, and Shaw are four-star prospects.
Additionally, preferred walk-on Quiron (pronounced Key-ron) Johnson will also enroll this spring. The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder was a second team All-Area and Mid-State All-Conference offensive lineman for Reidsville (N.C.) High. He anchored an offensive line that helped the Rams average 52.1 points per game on its way to an undefeated season and NCHSAA 2A crown. He also played defensive end where he registered 71 tackles, including 11 for a loss and 5.5 sacks.
All eight aforementioned players will be permitted to participate in Blue Dawn and spring practice.
