Kicker Noah Ruggles Commits to UNC

Days before National Signing Day, UNC has added the nation's fifth best kicker to its 2017 recruiting class.

North Carolina has added a kicker to its 2017 class. Before concluding his official visit, Noah Ruggles verbally committed to the Tar Heels.

A couple of days prior to arriving in Chapel Hill for his official visit, UNC offered Ruggles, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound kicker from Lutz (Fla.) Steinbrenner. Vanderbilt had also offered. He officially visited Nashville last weekend.

Kohl’s Kicking ranks Ruggles as the nation’s fifth best kicker, while Chris Sailer Kicking places Ruggles 25th in the nation.

As a senior for Steinbrenner, Ruggles was named Florida All-State Class 8A after converting all 21 of PAT attempts and going 9-of-12 on field goals with a long of 57 yards. He also handled punts and kickoffs. On kickoffs, 35 of his 42 boots were touchbacks, while posting a 54.1-yard average.
