ICTV: UNC Sees Andrew Platek's Fit

The 2017 UNC Basketball signee played in the Smith Center on Sunday with his high school team.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Andrew Platek will enroll at North Carolina in four months, but on Sunday he played his first game at the Smith Center.

His high school team, Northfield Mount Hermon, made the trip down from Massachusetts to face UNC's JV squad. The loaded prep school ran away with a 92-63 win, with Platek posting five points, five assists, and eight rebounds.

UNC assistant coach C.B. McGrath, who was the lead recruiter for Platek, says he came to realize during the evaluation process that Platek is an ideal fit for head coach Roy Williams.

"As we were recruiting other people, I kept thinking 'This guy's perfect for what Coach WIlliams likes,," McGrath said. "He might not be perfect for what other coaches like, but he's going to be perfect in terms of what he does, what Coach stresses, and he's very coachable."
