New Orleans (La.) Landry-Walker was able to overcome Justin Rogers's quick start to defeat Bossier City (La.) Parkway, 61-21, in the LHSAA Class 5A quarterfinal, last November.
Rogers, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound quarterback, built a 14-0 first quarter lead with touchdown runs of 66 and 18 yards. However, Landry-Walker scored 21 unanswered points in the second quarter. Rogers tied the game when he hit a wide open receiver for a 48-yard touchdown connection. That would be the last time Parkway reached pay dirt. Meanwhile, Landry-Walker went on to add 40 more points to its tally.
Rogers finished with 103 yards on 14 rushes (7.4-yard average) and 103 yards on 7-of-18 passing.
