CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Justin Jackson is the 2017 ACC Player of the Year, and teammate Joel Berry said this award came as no surprise.
"If someone had a camera and just saw how many times he was in the gym and how many hours he put in, they would have said the same thing," Berry said. "If there was any player, Justin deserves it."
Head coach Roy Williams's team-first approach is focused on winning, but in Jackson's case he deserves the recognition.
"The teams that win, the players get the awards and rewards, and he said to me, 'It's about winning,'" Williams said. "I said, 'I appreciate that, but it's something else. This is what you should feel really good about, it's about the sweat.'"
