UNC 'A Good Situation' for OL Grad Transfer Cam Dillard

Florida graduate transfer Cam Dillard decided to continue his playing career at UNC. He selected UNC over Arizona. The 6-foot-4, 314-pound offensive lineman discussed his decision with Inside Carolina after it was made on Sunday night...

Cameron Dillard Q&A

Why did you choose UNC?

"I liked the coaches and I thought that it was a good situation for my family and I."

What role did Coach Chris Kapilovic play in your decision?

"I think Coach Kap does a lot of good things and will help me excel."

How did the official visits impact your decision?

"I really just like everything that I saw. After visiting, it seemed like a good fit."

Which UNC coaches did you speak to tonight and what were their reactions to the news?

"I spoke to Coach Kap and Coach [Larry] Fedora. Both we're excited and can't wait to have me there."

Position wise, where does Kapilovic see you fitting in at along UNC's offensive line?

"Center."

When will you enroll at UNC?

It will be shortly after I finish classes in April.

How do you feel now that you've gotten this decision out of the way?

"I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders."

How different was going through the recruiting process this time around?

"You can see through things; you know what's real. You know what's important. And you can see that coaches treat you more like a grown man than like a high school kid. I have a wife and kid, so there's no reason to be beating around the bush with me."
