Heels, Cavs lead for Goddard

Trimane Goddard, a 2004 North Carolina football prospect, has watched his offers mount since starting his senior season at Robersonville Roanoke a few weeks ago.

Currently Goddard has nine offers from UNC, Virginia, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke, Colorado, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida State.

"Right now I would say that Virginia and Carolina (are about equal) and lead Florida State, Georgia, and Tennessee," Goddard told Inside Carolina on Wednesday. "Those last three schools I like about the same too. Carolina and Virginia are probably recruiting me the hardest.

"I'm looking for a school that offers a great education and it would be a plus if I could play early," he said. "Schools are offering me as a wide receiver, slot receiver, or defensive back. Carolina is offering me as an athlete. I really don't have a preference what position I play."

Goddard said he may take some official visits towards the end of the school year, but most will be immediately following the season. He recently visited Carolina for the FSU game and also went to East Carolina for the West Virginia game.

Goddard is considering a major in Biology.
