Javon Terry UNC Football Commitment Q&A: 'It Felt Like Family'

Following the conclusion of Fedora's Freak Show on Saturday night, Javon Terry gave the Tar Heels his commitment. He then discussed his decision with Inside Carolina ...

Did you anticipate making this commitment tonight?

Yeah. When I first came here, I liked it. When I first came here it was like a family, everyone buys in, I was feeling it. I love it.

So heading into today your goal was to leave here as a Tar Heel?

You went to UNC's camp last year, which was a different type of experience. How was the Freak Show different?

I feel like all this is an invitation-only deal. Better players, and I liked it.

Did you give the coaches any idea you might commit tonight?

No, I didn't them any idea.

When you went up to them to commit, what'd you say?

When I committed, I told them 'I'm Javon Terry and I want to be a Tar Heel."

What was that like for you?

"It felt really good. It felt like family. When I talk to them, it feels like family.

How firm is this commitment?

I don't think I'll take any other official visits. I may take (unofficial visits).

I know UNC isn't far away, so how often do you think you'll be visiting UNC?

You have a teammate who also has a UNC offer - Devon Lawrence. Any plans to do any recruiting?

I'll try to. I'll try to get him on the board ... I don't know what he's going to do. I'm going to try to get him here for some visits.

All three guys that committed today were defensive backs. What were your thoughts working with those future teammates?

We got good work in, got better as a group. We feel like family.
