Post-game tidbits from Saturday's game.

North Carolina Notes - Saturday, September 27
  • UNC's 32 pass completions is a school record. The previous was 31 vs. LSU in 1985. THe 53 attempts is the second-most (54 vs. LSU in 1985). Carolina had a school-record 469 yards passing. The previous best was 417 vs. Arizona State in 2002. In that game all 417 yards were by Durant. Carolina had a season-high 550 yards of total offense today.
  • Darian Durant was 25 of 42 for 323 yards today. He became the all-time UNC career leader in pass completions with 375. The previous record was 372 by Jason Stanicek.
  • Durant threw three touchdown passes which increases his UNC career record to 40. It is the sixth time he has thrown at least three touchdowns in a game.
  • Durant moved into second place all-time at UNC in career pasing yards. Durant had 323 yards passing today and now has 4,889 for his career. He moved past Stanicek, who had 4,683. He is 98 yards away from Ronald Curry's career record of 4,987.
  • Durant became just the third player in UNC history to have at least 5,000 total offense yards. He now has 5,343 total yards of offense, third behind Curry and Stanicek.
  • Jarwarski Pollock had a career-high 11 catches and a career-high 134 yards receiving. That is his first career 100-yard receiving game and the first by a Tar Heel since Bobby Blizzard had 100 last season at FSU.
  • Pollock's 11 receptions equal the third-most in UNC single-game history. That is the most in a game since Leon Johnson had 11 vs. Duke in 1995.
  • Freshman wide receiver Jesse Holley caught a 24-yard touchdown pass. Holley now had two catches on the season and both are touchdowns. He also had a touchdown at Wisconsin.
  • Cotchery's 217 yards receiving are the third-most by a UNC opponent.
  • The 615 yards allowed today by UNC are the fourth-most allowed in school history (657 by Arizona State, 2002; 656 by Duke in 1989; 632 by Wake Forest in 1968)
  • The 1165 combined total offense yards today are the second-most in a UNC game, one shy of the record. Carolina and Maryland combined for 1166 yards in a 59-42 win in 1993.
  • The 34 points equals the most ever by UNC in a loss to NC State. Carolina lost 35-34 at home in 1986.
  • Rivers' 423 yards passing are the third-most by a team and an individual quarterback against North Carolina in history.
  • UNC's Matt Baker threw for a career-high 146 yards and was 7 of 9. His previous single-game yardage high was 55 yards at FSU in 2002. He had a career-best 76-yard touchdown pass to Adarius Bowman.
