Late Night with Roy Williams set for Oct. 17

The University of North Carolina men's basketball team will begin the 2003-04 season with "Late Night with Roy Williams" on Friday, October 17, at the Dean E. Smith Center.

ESPN anchor Stuart Scott (Carolina '87) will once again be master of ceremonies for the event, which follows a volleyball match between North Carolina and Duke.

Admission to the Smith Center is free (a parking fee of $5 will be charged in lots near the Smith Center). Free "Park & Ride" bus service will run from University Mall and the Friday Center (NC 54) parking lots.

Doors to the Smith Center open at 6:30 p.m. Most seats in the arena will be general admission (first-come, first-served).

The volleyball match begins at 7:30 p.m. "Late Night with Roy Williams" is expected to begin at approximately 10 p.m.

The men's and women's basketball teams will participate in Late Night activities.

All fans will have the opportunity to win prizes courtesy of EA Sports, Michael Jordan Nissan and the Rathskeller.
