Florida DB ‘interested' in UNC

"Interested, very interested," WR/DB Rashaun Jones says firmly when speaking in regards to UNC's football program.

"I like that they are a young team and I can come in and get playing time right away."

The Carolina coaching staff was in Lake City, Fla. last week to watch his game.

Although Jones would like to see more of what the Tar Heels have to offer, the 6-2 185-pound two-way star is as wide open as they come with no leaders or even a top ten.

"Clemson, Syracuse, South Carolina, Florida State, Miami, Florida, South Florida, Central Florida, Louisville, Kentucky, Alabama, and Auburn have all offered," the Columbia HS standout listed while making certain no team was omitted. "But no sir, no leaders."

A defensive back in the Charles Woodson mold, Jones's one touchdown, six pass break ups, one blocked punt, and 19 tackles has helped catapult Columbia High School to a 4-0 record and a second place poll ranking in the state of Florida. Speaking of Columbia High School, the Tar Heels' coaching staff is also very high on two of Jones's teammates Andre Copeland and George Timmons.
