Demario Pressley update

While Demario Pressley was reticent to discuss his recruiting process after a painful Dudley loss Friday night, he spared a few moments to speak with Inside Carolina about how it is progressing and where UNC stands.

Pressley, who has been notably tight-lipped about which individual schools lead in the battle for his services, did dispel one persistent vein of thought about his priorities – staying close to home isn't a given.

"Nah, that doesn't really matter to me. Home is nothing. I really don't mind [going to a school that is far from home]."

With the one consistent parameter within this high-profile recruitment seemingly out the window, where does UNC in particular stand? Are they going to be in the top five?

"Yeah, yeah, of course," Pressley responded somewhat incredulously. "Carolina's strong."

Though the distance factor has been apparently quashed as a major influence on the process, UNC does still have some advantages in this recruitment, namely the opportunity for immediate playing time and the presence of his current defensive mate Martel Thatch. Thatch confirmed Friday he is actively recruiting his teammates to join him in Chapel Hill.

Will it be enough to bring Pressley to Chapel Hill? With official visits still in the future, and signing day months away, only time will tell.
