UNC-Duke Football Game Scheduled for 1 p.m.

CHAPEL HILL --- The 90th annual Battle for the Bell ­ the football game between the University of North Carolina and Duke University ­ will kickoff at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, at Kenan Stadium.

The football game kicks off a full day of athletics competition at UNC. In addition to the football game, the men¹s basketball team opens regular-season action at 8 p.m. against Old Dominion in the Smith Center and the men¹s and women¹s swim teams compete at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the Nike Cup at Koury Natatorium.

Season-ticket holders should note that separate parking permits will be in use for the football and men¹s basketball games.

"This will be an exciting day for Tar Heel fans," says Director of Athletics Dick Baddour. "We scheduled the football game at 1 p.m. to accommodate all our fans who wish to attend both the football and basketball games. We encourage our fans that attend both games to visit our splendid Chapel Hill restaurants and/or take in some holiday shopping downtown in between games. It should be a fun day for everyone in the University community."

The winner of the UNC-Duke football game receives 1.0 point in the Carlyle Cup. The Tar Heels currently lead, 5-1.
