Manuel upgraded to questionable

University of North Carolina swingman Jackie Manuel may play tomorrow night against Illinois in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge in Greensboro, N.C, head coach Roy Williams announced Monday afternoon at 5:45 p.m.

Earlier Monday, Williams said in his weekly press conference that Manuel would not play Tuesday evening. However, trainer Marc Davis told Williams later in the afternoon that Manuel felt better and wanted to practice, which he did.

The decision to play Manuel will be a game-time decision. Manuel suffered a sprained left medial collateral ligament in the first half of the game at Cleveland State on Saturday and was limited to just seven minutes of action.

Junior forward Jawad Williams also practiced Monday, but is still questionable for the game against the Illini. Williams suffered a (right) hip pointer in practice Sunday. He saw limited action in drills Monday.

Freshman Jesse Holley, a wide receiver on the Carolina football team, participated in his first varsity practice on Monday,
