The 6-8 sophomore forward posted 23 points and a career-best 14 rebounds in the 88-81 victory over the Fighting Illini at the Greensboro Coliseum. May followed that performance with a career-high 26 point outing against George Mason after shooting 83 percent from the floor (10 for 12). The Bloomington, Ind., native also added six rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks as the Tar Heels beat the Patriots, 115-81.
In the two games, May went a combined 17 for 27 (63 percent) from the floor, while connecting on 15 of 18 foul shots. He also added five steals and four blocks.
