Sensabaugh earns All-America honors

East Tennessee State junior safety Gerald Sensabaugh (Kingsport, Tenn.) has been named to The Sports Network 2003 I-AA All-America team, released Monday afternoon. Sensabaugh will transfer to North Carolina and be eligible for his senior season in 2004.

Sensabaugh was a third-team selection, and was one of nine players from the Southern Conference to be named to the team.

Sensabaugh finished fourth on the Buccaneers with 74 tackles on the season and added two tackles for losses, two sacks, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He finished second on the team with eight pass breakups and led the team with five blocked kicks.

The 6-2, 210-pound safety tied an NCAA record with three blocked punts against Georgia Southern on Nov. 1. Sensabaugh blocked one kick in the second quarter, then two more in the fourth quarter on consecutive GSU possessions. His blocked kicks led to 15 of ETSU's 22 points on the afternoon.
